You can tell a lot from a person's nails. When a life starts to unravel, they're among the first to go.*

As a person who can not stick to a single decision she makes and someone who is impatient I find it difficult to keep my nails the same way for too long. I am constantly changing them up. For this blog post I decided to show you guys my week in nail art and hopefully it will inspire some of you!

Monday

For this look I kept things pretty simple. I painted my nails this stunning orange shade from Technic bar my statement nail which was painted in Essie's 'blanc'. I then added orange and green dots just to jazz things up. I, again, used Technics orange shade (which unfortunately doesn't have a name) and Revlon's 'Lime Basil'.

Tuesday

Clearly feeling bright colours I decided to use Sinful colours 'Unicorn' as my base colour for this look. I added Revlon's 'African Tea Rose' to create the ombré pink and reverse pink french tip. To add a little bit extra I used Essence's 'Space Queen' as a top layer on the pink for some sparkle.

Wednesday

I definitely got into the ombré vibe this week. I created this pastel look using Essence's 'Ballerina's Charm' for the purple and 'If I were a boy' for the blue colour. Completing the range with a minty green I used Sally Hansens's 'Mint Sorbet'.

Thursday

Adoring the ombré I had done I didn't want to get rid of it just yet! I decided to use Barry M's black nail art pen to add this fishnet appearance to the nails.

Friday

Back to bright colours! For my yellow base I used Barry M's 'Lemon Ice Cream' and Sally Hansen's Firey Island' for my orange. I added the black dots as I felt the look was a little plain and I did this using Barry M's black nail art pen.

Saturday

Returning, once again, to ombré.  My base is an ombré from Revlon's 'Spun Sugar' to 'Moonlit Woods' (I've done a whole blog post on these guys here). I adore the metallic graduation of colours. I then chose to add the black weaving lines to not bore myself using my Barry M nail art pen.

Sunday

A more relaxed look for Sunday. My main colour is this stunning forest green by Park Avenue Polish titled 'Cosmic NV'. I then added the white design using my Barry M nail art pen in White.

That was my nails this week. If you'd like more posts like this or any tutorials let me know! What was your favourite look?

The only rule is don't be boring and dress cute wherever you go. Life is too short to blend in.*

There are so many occasions we all want to dress up for such as birthdays, graduations, dinner dates, etc. It can be difficult to find the perfect dress you had in mind or a close substitute. When the shops fail us we all hunt out the clothing item we are dreaming of online, which can be a difficult task. The internet offers thousands of options but if you're picky, like I am, it can be difficult to find an online store that has an excellent range and does not break the bank.

I recently discovered such a site! While I was lurking for a graduation dress I stumbled upon Little Mistress. The online store offers a fantastic range of dresses, tops, skirts, playsuits and jumpsuits with styles that are sure suit everyone. They also have a tall, petite, curvy and even kids section. The big highlight for me was discovering that the shop offers a 15% student discount and a 10% discount for first time buyers, how could you not be tempted?

I decided to chose my top 5 and share them with you to give you a taste of what Little Mistress offer.

This is the Little Mistress Autumn Marble Print Embellished Panel Dress.  I love the print and structure of this dress! The embellished collar covers any jewellery needs which makes it a complete look. I feel like it would be a great dress for the workplace and also graduation. It retails for £58.

This gorgeous stripped black dress is called the Girls on Film Long Stripped Sheer Overlay Dress. I adore this piece. It would be great both casually worn and if you dressed it up for a night out, there are a lot of options. Retailing at £28 I think its an absolute steal!

This simple piece is called the Black White and Peach Dress. I love the minimalistic appearance of the piece and feel it could be dressed up, worn to work as well as worn casually. This retails for £34.

The Girls on Film Multi Colour Abstract Print Exposed Shoulder tunic is a stunning modern piece. I love the pop of colour with the blue collar and sleeve hems. Granted this appears more of a summer dress but who says you can't enjoy it during the colder months? i think it would look great with tights and a leather jacket. this dress retails at £30.

This stunning piece is called the Cream Short Sleeve Mesh Panel Detail Bodycon Dress. I adore the mesh contrasting against the sophisticated structure of the silhouette of this dress. I think it would be great for a graduation or work. It is currently on sale for £18! I am very tempted.

All dresses are available on the Little Mistress website here. If you are searching for a new dress or outfit this a great destination with an easy to use website.

You can't keep changing men, so you settle for changing your lipstick.*

When it comes to make-up we all love a good bargain! We buy palettes for everything - eyeshadows, concealer, contour, etc. The purpose of buying this mini collection is that it enables us to try out various shades and to have them all together (it also works out cheaper than to buy everything separately which is always a plus). Lip products are also presented in palettes and mini collections, however, I find it difficult to find one with full sized products for a reasonable price.

I was recently flying back home to Ireland and had spotted the Revlon 9 super lustrous lip cube and on my flight back to the UK I just had to have it! The cube offers 9 of Revlon's best selling lipsticks and they are all full sized. The collection offers shades to suit every customer and colours that provide both a day and night option. The lipsticks all apply smoothly and do not dry out your lips! (Something I tend to suffer from) They are long lasting and only need two touch ups at most throughout the day. It has been one of the best purchases, beauty wise, I have made in a while!

The shades I received are:
  • Champagne on Ice- This is a gorgeous sheer brown. With a pearl finish this shade gives the lips a subtle sun kissed appearance. The shimmer through the product enhances your natural lip colour and offers a fuller appearance.
  • Rum Raisin - This is a stunning red brown shade that reminds me of old Hollywood. The crème lipstick provides a matt finish and gives a great sultry look!

  • Wine with Everything - Not only does this have a brilliant name but it is a beautiful pinky red with a shimmer infused finish. This is described as a pearl lipstick but it is full of colour.
  • Blushing Mauve - Also a pearl, this is a great neutral shade. The pink colour has brown undertones with a shimmer and works great for an everyday shade.
  • Love that Red - This crème lipstick is a stunning matt red! It finishes beautifully on the lips and is that classic red we all love in a lipstick.
  • Softsilver Rose - The shimmery pink shade is a great addition to a simple make-up look. It brightens the face and the pearl finish gives a refreshed look to the lips.
  • Blushed - Another pearl finish in the group, this shade is an excellent natural shade. The shimmer throughout adds a little something extra to your lips and ups your natural lip game.
  • Coffee Bean - This shade shocked me as I assumed it would be a crème and matt finish rather than pearl. I was also worried it would drown me as it is not a shade I ever gravitated towards through the expectation of it not suiting me. I was pleasantly surprised! It is a gorgeous brown with pink undertones that work with the shimmer to provide the stunning shade.
  • Iced Amethyst - This shade was my main reason for purchasing the lip cube. The pearl finish was expected with a name like that! The shade is a stunning shimmery purple that demands attention when worn in the best possible way. Once applied the lipstick provides a rose inspired colour that is no doubt flattering for every person wearing it.

The lip cube retails for £36 on FlyBe and British Airways flights.

Smell is a potent wizard that transports you across thousands of miles and all the years you have lived.*

We all have a soft spot for certain beauty products whether it is eye shadow, blushers or mascaras. Many people accumulate these products without notice and are left with an unnecessary (but necessary) supply.  My beauty product weakness is nail polish. This love of nail colour has left me with a rather large collection that continues to grow!

It is very rare that the anticipation of a new range of nail polish excites me as I usually want them all no mater what the difference is. However, when I first read about Revlon's Parfumerie nail polish range I was obsessed and had to have them. The packaging, the colours and the fact they had a fragrance had my intrigue from the beginning.

The nail polish comes in a beautiful glass bottle reminiscent of old style perfume. The lid and brush have a plastic black sphere shape to mimic the rubber droppers found on old bottles. At first I was worried this applicator would be difficult to use as Im used to a longer handle but it turns out it made no difference and was easy to use.

The range boasts to have beautiful scents to suit every one from fruity to fresh to spicy. Revlon kept their promise. Each shade has a specific scent that matches the colour impeccably. The spectrum of colour in the collection is also incredible as there is definitely a nail polish for everyone. All polishes have a glossy finish with the exception of two of the glitter colours. There are metallics, satin finishes, glitter and glossy bold colours - a style for everyone!

The nail polish only requires two coats with the exception of the thinner colours such as 'Fresh linen' and 'Surf Spray'. The fragrance of each colour can only be identified once the nail polish has been applied.

THE RANGE

This is 'Moonlit Woods' a gorgeous purple metallic. It has a smooth finish that shines beautifully when the light hits your nails. The scent is a very fresh garden inspired smell that isn't overly floral.

'Fresh linen" is a simple pearl nail colour. Having a satin finish the colour provides an expensive feel with a luxurious effect. The fragrance is also refreshing with a touch of the clean smell we associate with fresh bedsheets.

This light girly pink is 'Pink Pineapple'. Expecting a floral smell to accompany this shade i was pleasantly surprised to find it was in fact a sweet fragrance just as the name suggested. The scent reminds me sweets from when I was younger and i cant stop smelling my nails when I wear this shade!

'Apricot nectar' hosts a gorgeous juicy smell to match this bright pastel orange. It smells just like fruit salad sweets if anyone remembers those!

I did not know what to expect with this particular shade. The thought of my nails smelling like soap worried me as I'm a picky person with soaps! However, I was pleasantly surprised. It is a very simple and calm scent. The colour itself of 'Lavender soap' is beautiful with a satin finish.

With the word sugar in the name I had my reservations. Worried it would be too intensely sweet to sniff 'Spun Sugar' hosts a very subtle fragrance. The sweetness does not demand your attention anything time your hands pass your face. This is a silver metallic polish that has a splendidly smooth finish.

'Espresso' smells just how you would expect! As I am not the biggest coffee lover this smell is not for me but luckily the range does not overpower you with its fragrance. It is a simple black polish with a glossy finish.

When it comes to anything fragranced the title is what provides us with an idea of what to expect upon smelling. 'Beachy' held high expectations for me. I was a little disappointed, it has more a spice element to it than the sandy smell i had hoped for. This disappointment did not hold be back from falling in love with the colour! It is a stunning gold with a brown shimmer throughout.

'Ginger melon' is a fun bright pink a bold fruity scent to match! The fragrance reminds you of fresh fruit juices and your favourite fruity toiletries!

Hosting a more mature scent is 'Autumn Spice'. As it implies the smell is spicy and earthy. However, the colour is a gorgeous glitter mixture of gold and browns that is beautiful once applied.

'Chocolate Truffle' is lovely deep brown with a chocolate scent that entices the senses and encourages users to feel as though their painting their nails with chocolate. However, this scent is not for me as I am not a huge fan of all things chocolate scented.

I am a huge fan of darker coloured nail polishes so 'Wild Violets' was right up my alley! This deep purple has a beautiful fragrance of fresh flowers but is quite soft.

This summer red is a great all rounder! The scent of 'China Flower' is floral but there is definitely a subtle spice element to it. The polish has a glossy finish and looks incredible on the nail.

It might not shock you to discover that 'Orange blossom' does in fact have a fruity yet floral smell but it definitely worth a sniff. The bold orange has a glossy finish and a smell you wont be able to resist.

'African Tea Rose' is a lovely dark pink with a gloss finish. It hosts the most incredible fresh scent that is floral also. It is a smell you forget you love until your hand passes your face and you fall in love with it all over again!

According to Revlon 'Bordeaux' smells gorgeously fruity but is not over the top. The deep red and pink infusion is a great colour for the colder months or evenings (or whenever you feel like it!).

'Lime basil' reminds me of the green tea, mint and lime fruit cooler in Costa. It is a juicy fresh scent that you can not help but love. It is a also a great apple green shade.

'Wintermint' is possibly my favourite from the entire range. When I usually buy a glitter nail polish I almost always need a base colour - Not with this polish! The beautiful pastel green hosts blue glitter pieces and a gold shimmer. It also small refreshingly minty!

Assuming to be let down by the title of 'Surf Spray' I was shocked as the polish did in fact have a fresh sea side fragrance to it, although subtle. The gorgeous shimmery blue is also reminiscent of the sea.

'Italian Leather' is a grey polish with a gold glitter shimmer throughout. What surprised me was, once again, the scent. It does indeed smell of new leather.

Overall I am very impressed with the range. I am also a fan of having the occasional option of wearing a second fragrance on my nails. What do you guys think? Will you or have you tried these polishes before?

When in doubt wear red.*

Infamous fashion houses across the globe have spread their luxurious touch to the beauty world. Brands such as Chanel have provided us with iconic make up pieces e.g. the perfect red lipstick. It is only now that Christain Louboutin has ventured to the beauty side of fashion.

On Wednesday the fashion world blew up after Christain Louboutin announced the release of their nail polish collection. The first shade available to be purchased from the Louboutin website is Rouge Louboutin the iconic red that the shoemaker is known for. We are now left waiting and wanting more as more shades are to be released in the collection in due course.

As a lover of all things Louboutin and nail polish I could not resist this latest endeavor and bought mine straight away! Based on his highest heel, The Ballerina Ultima, the bottle stands at over 7 inches. The cap and brush mimics the heel itself and was inspired by calligraphy. The nail colour is incased in a glass bottle decorated in an ombré effect. The shade is Rouge Louboutin the Louboutin trademark red. The nail polish is very opaque and glides onto the nail and only requires two coats maximum. The lid encourages the user to take their time and enjoy the experience. The bottle comes with a patient black box, which is reminiscent of the patient leather used on the shoes, to cover the glass bottle. The bottle is very dominant and demands the eyes to look in its direction. Once in its box the silhouette imitates a trophy.

When the nail polish first arrived it I was a little intimidated by the size and shape of the lid. I was weary as to how I could paint my nails with a brush that reminded me of a lance. My initial reaction could not have been further from the reality. The lid is very lightweight and does not alter your nail painting precision in any way. I found the nail colour was the perfect red! The shade and finish of the polish is excellent and identical to the iconic red soles.

The nail polish does come with a high figure price of €45 but it does allow anyone the opportunity to own a small piece of the luxurious brand. Not everyone can afford the infamous red-soled heels but the nail polish is not a bad settlement. I think the polish will make an excellent gift, especially as Christmas approaches why not have the perfect red to match the festive surroundings?

What do you guys think? Will you be buying this nail polish?

The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy.*

When it comes to make-up there can be too much choice. Many of us walk into a department store to witness the sea of make-up counters and react like children in a sweet shop; we want one of everything! The bigger the brand name the larger the price and the more we can’t help but want apiece. This happened me recently, I admit I fell victim to the enticing counter and persuasive sales argument for Dior.

My beautician Godmother encouraged my family to buy big brand make-ups such as YSL, Elizabeth Arden and Chanel when I was growing up. It is only recently that I decided to branch out to a Fashion houses make-up. Thinking I would leave with one item I left with four. I bought an eye shadow palette, shimmering face powder, mascara and a lipstick.

The product I was most excited to use was the 5 couleurs iridescent (5-colour iridescent eyeshadow) palette. I purchased it in the shade 609 Earth Reflection. The palette is around the size of the palm of your hand, which makes it perfect for travel and simply carrying it in your handbag. It comes in a velvet pouch to project the packaging. The shades are a two natural browns, one light golden shade, a cream and pink. All the eye shadows are shimmery. The palette also hosts two Dior sponge eye shadow applicators and a mirror.

The eyeshadows are very pigmented and go on effortlessly. The colours together create a beautiful natural smoky eye that lasts all day. It is a great selection of shades that make it a go to palette when in a rush. I am a huge fan of the Urban Decay Naked palettes but find they can be bulky to carry in a handbag so I feel this will be a great substitute for doing my make-up on the go.

The Diorskin Poudre Shimmer ultra-shimmering all over face powder was a product I did not expect to own. I bought it in the shade 002 Amber Diamond. It is the same size as the eyeshadow palette and has the same packaging. Once opened there are five different shades of powder, which are presented from light to dark.

The powder does exactly what it says on tin. Once I applied the powder I found it gave my make-up an illuminating lift and brought some colour and warmth to my face, which as someone with a very pale skin tone was a pleasant surprise. The powder applies very easily also lasts all day.

Eyeliner and mascara are my two make-up weaknesses so when I had the option to purchase two mascaras for less I could not say no. I purchased a set with two of Dior’s mascaras; The Diorshow Extase and the Diorshow Iconic.

The Diorshow Extase (left) has a synthetic brush applicator that lifts and plumps the eyelashes. The Diorshow Iconic (right) has a rubber brush applicator that separates and lengthens the lashes. Both mascaras are packaged in a metallic tube. When buying mascaras I am usually hesitant to believe what it claims to be able to achieve.  Dior proved me wrong. The mascaras are easy to apply and accomplish everything promised on the packaging. The two mascaras did remind me of Benefits “They’re Real” and “Bad Gal”.

My mom has always been a fan of Dior lipsticks so I decided to follow by influence I purchase one of my own. I purchased from the Rouge Dior collection in the shade 651 Rose Tourbillion/Tourbillion Pink. The lipstick is a beautiful neutral pink with a slight shimmer.

On the packaging it promises to provide voluptuous care and it does just that! I am prone to dry lips after wearing a lipstick all day due to this I try to only buy moisturizing lipsticks. I tried this lipstick out it lasted for hours before needing another application and did not dry out my lips. It applies smoothly and is very opaque.

Overall I find that Dior have a very strong make-up range and are not just popular due to the brand behind it. There are cheaper products that are very similar to Dior’s but if you feel like spoiling yourself and splurging the Dior make-up counter is not a bad place to do so!
